My Story

Patient Advocate Christi Jo poses next to her sister, who lies in a hospital bed, sick with cancer.

My passion for patient advocacy was born from profound personal loss.

When my sister was just 25 years old, I watched her battle cancer while facing obstacles no patient or family should ever have to endure. I saw firsthand how difficult it can be to navigate a complicated healthcare system and insurance process during the most vulnerable time in a person’s life. That experience changed me forever.

Since then, I have also lost my dad, stepdad, aunt, friends, and most recently, my mom. With each loss, I have seen how easily patients and families can become overwhelmed, unheard, and left to navigate an incredibly complex system on their own. Those experiences strengthened my conviction that everyone deserves compassionate guidance, clear communication, and someone who will stand beside them when it matters most.

Today, my mission is simple: to ensure every patient has a voice and never feels alone.

I believe that knowledge is empowering. When patients and families understand their rights, their options, and the resources available to them, they are better equipped to make informed decisions about their care. My role is to educate, advocate, and support them every step of the way.

My experience spans the entire continuum of care, including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, acute rehabilitation, home health, hospice, skilled nursing, wound care and hyperbaric medicine, and in-home care. I am also experienced in navigating Medicare, Medicare Advantage plans, Medicaid, VA benefits, and private insurance.

Advocacy is more than my profession—it is my purpose. I will stand beside my clients with compassion, integrity, and determination, asking the difficult questions, helping them understand their options, and ensuring they are treated with the dignity and respect every person deserves. No one should have to face the healthcare system alone.
